Adult braces

A large percentage of our patients are choosing adult braces as a treatment option. Some seek treatment for life events such as weddings, a milestone birthday or to restore confidence in their smile. Many have already had teen braces earlier in life and still have concerns about crooked teeth or visit us after treatment elsewhere has not been as effective as hoped. No matter what the reason, teeth straightening for adults is a viable option for almost any age. With today’s choices, there are more ways to straighten your teeth than ever before. Your condition will determine the most suitable system to ensure you a beautiful, permanent result.

Types of adult braces

METAL BRACES

Traditional Metal Braces are highly durable and offer excellent control. We use some of the smallest brackets available and offer a wide range of colour options for the bands that secure the wires to the brackets. They are the least expensive braces system and move teeth much faster than clear or invisible aligners.

CLEAR OR CERAMIC BRACES

The same size and shape as metal braces, except that Ceramic Braces, have tooth-coloured or clear brackets that blend into teeth. They are less noticeable than metal braces and move teeth much faster than clear or invisible aligners.

LINGUAL BRACES

Similar to traditional metal braces except that the brackets and wires are fit on the inside of teeth so they are not visible when you smile. WIN Hidden Braces are a state-of-the-art lingual braces system.

SELF-LIGATING BRACES

Self-Ligating Braces do not use steel or elastic ligatures and have a built-in mechanism that holds the wire in place with little friction while allowing it to slide freely back and forth.

CLEAR ALIGNERS/INVISIBLE ALIGNERS

Smooth, plastic aligners that fit over the teeth, like a slim, flexible mouthguard. The aligners are clear and removable and we replace them every 2 weeks. Both Invisalign and South Beach Clear Aligners are types of invisible aligners. Clear braces for adults or teens offer excellent results and are a more discreet alternative to metal braces.

“I attended Dr Paul to have a brace fitted and I love the amazing results he has achieved. Paul and his team were just brilliant at putting me at ease and making me feel so comfortable about wearing a brace at 55+. So if you are like I was and think you’re too old for a brace, think again!”
